Last year I posted this on another blog that I have. Or had. It is from July 2009. Oh...just to have some of those sounds back this very moment. And some extra boy clutter.
"Today my heart is restless. My senses seem to be highly sensitive. The sounds in my home sound louder. The clutter is more cluttery. And my mental to-do list? It's getting on my last nerve.
But I also sense a tug at my heart. In fact I think it may be the remedy for my restless heart.

ReplyDeleteThere has been an overwhelming silence in my home yesterday and today. I know it's God's way of calling me to His lap. Thanks for further confirmation in this post. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteSo many times, HE has called me to HIS lap!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Too much cancer and sadness Mel...I follow Lisa and her battle. I hope you find some peace on Daddy's lap today!
ReplyDeleteLnow this feeling well. Thanks for this....Hugs, Debbie
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I actually seek the silence, the quietude these days - - more and more! In my youth they meant boredom. Today they mean times of refreshing.
ReplyDeleteMay He refresh you powerfully today, and always,
Kathleen
Sweet Friend,
ReplyDeleteYes, rest quietly in our Daddy's lap a place where we all can find peace, comfort, joy and so much more. That is where I am at today too as I am praying for so many today and you too my precious friend.
This posting is beautiful and you led me to the place where I needed to remain today.
I love you Melanie and may His peace and tranquility fill and cover you completely especially today as you rest safely and securely in His lap of wonderful love.
Big Hugs,
Alleluiabelle
A beautiful post, Melanie ~ Yes, in our pain, we do draw closer to the Lord. I remember writing lots of music when I was hurting. Have you seen my music website? I have some songs about peace (scripture songs) and one about pain.

Melanie,
ReplyDeleteMay you find Comfort, Peace, and a Blessed Assurance as you sit in the Lap of your Great Comforter, Redeemer as HE Refreshes your restless heart!
Praying for you
I love those words.b
ReplyDeleteIt goes for everyone. We need the silence to be able to hear His voice. As I get older, I am less patient with noises around me. I need to draw near to the One Who knows me best and is my only consolation.
ReplyDeleteYou continue to climb up on His lap, Melanie. You are the apple of HIs eye.
I love that you are taking it one day at a time and just for today you are called to sit and be comforted from what you love most, the word of God.
ReplyDeleteAm praying for you and your comfort today, peace be with you my friend.....:-) Hugs
You voice your heart in such a honest, and tender way. I feel your pain as I read the words. For me, stillness and quiet are a special gift from my Heavenly Father. I ask Him to quiet your heart and give you deep, heartfelt peace to get through each day you must face. And then I asked Him to give you strength to get done what is ahead of you. Your friend took a very good picture of you.
ReplyDeleteMelanie,
ReplyDeleteI immediately started singing that song in my head, I just couldn't remember who sang it. Yes of course, Norah Jones. Such a beautiful voice. I can hear her singing it right now in my heart. Thank you for this. I need it RIGHT THIS MOMENT!! God always knows EXACTLY what we need. We just had a good talk, God and I, and then I came in here to the computer and came here, and this is just what He is speaking to my heart. Thank you friend. This is much needed.
Love you so Melanie,
Dawn
Dearest Melanie~ I've missed a few blog posts, but have had you continually on my mind and heart... So glad you have your Daddy's Lap to run to, and that you know when He's calling.
ReplyDeleteI hear the same thing when I hear Norah Jones' song. It's kind of "our song" - Jesus' and mine.
I love you and am praying right now for you...
Jennifer
I'm not gonna lie. I don't know this pain and won't pretend that I do. My thoughts and prayers are with you. It's the best I can do.
ReplyDeleteDearest Melanie...
ReplyDeleteSending hugs your way, continuing to pray for you dear friend..
Love, Jerelene
