31 Days Closer to a Cuter You! Day 12 "Surf's Up"

(Photo taken from Land's End online)

When it comes to choosing a bathing suit, my goal as a Christian woman is to choose the right suit for my body type and for my testimony.

I have even resorted to wearing a running tank with a swim skirt cover up instead of choosing a too bare swimsuit. This is probably the most challenging area of clothing when you want to look good and feel good and not be too exposed for a public pool or beach. When I can find it, I look for a tankini with modest coverage up top and pair it with a swim skirt cover-up or swim shorts. For myself I like the 2 suits on the left in the photo above.

In researching online for this post I found Land's End to be a good resource for cute AND modest swimwear. They carry plus sizes, average and petites. (Land's End has done nothing for me to post this. I just like their variety of cute and modest suits.)

You can choose by
  • neckline: high, scoop, square, sweetheart
  • back: racerback, portrait, bandeau and more
  • silhouette: most coverage, moderate coverage, least coverage
  • bra: underwire (w/or w/o soft cup), soft cup, prosthesis pocket
I like this one in the orange dot! Click HERE.

Trending in swimsuits this summer:

  •  ruffles
  • ruching
  • swim dresses

The Swim dress is "IN" this year. (Land's End)

  1. Thanks...I needed the nudge to buy one...haven't worn one in years...I even blogged about this struggle recently.

  2. The ruching sounds wonderful on the suits for this year. I have a suit just like the one on the left in the top picture but it's brown all over with some detail at the bust area. I think I got that right for my figure but I think the ruching would give more curves for my straighter waist.

Melanie, I know there are more people reading this than what the comments show. These posts have been so very helpful to me and I want to thank you so much for all the time and effort you've invested. Thanks!
