I Have Friends But No More FARRAH HAIR

We had a sweet visit with friends that we have known for a looooooong time. I have known my friend, Cathy, since she was in 7th grade and I was in 9th. My dad was her pastor for a while. They were on spring break and stopped by for a couple of days to visit with us.

(My hair after the new cut...not so "Farrah like" anymore since I washed and dried it myself. BTW, my hair is naturally straight but my favorite hairdresser used a big barrel curling iron on it after she cut it. Too bad I don't have a picture of her "work." And when I dug out the old curling iron to give it a go, I burned my thumb!)

Our friends...minus their oldest son who is a college boy.

Brian and Cathy met at our alma mater, Lee University. Their first date was at my wedding. Brian was my dad's youth pastor several years ago. Cathy was my dad's secretary. They are "family." We have STORIES!!! They are in full time ministry and Cathy is a school teacher.

I found an Easter Egg!

My Man Dan

  1. Aren't bestest friends just the best! You and your dear friend look a lot alike. I had to study the picture for a minute to see which one was you.
I bet your hair looks great! I love to go to the beauty shop and get my hair done. I would go once a week if I could afford it. Just love a fresh new cut.
I just read your previous post and my heart feels tight. I know that had to be hard going through sweet boys stuff. I am continually praying for you and your sweet family.
    Have a blessed Easter.

  2. Oh my goodness, I had Farrah hair too, I also had polyester bell bottoms, and (shhhh) I used to smoke (with my best friend)! Also, I've now transitioned to one of the Golden Girls. Gone are the trusses, the cigarettes, the bell bottoms.

What a treasure it is to have a history with someone that's endured the decades to remain a true friend. No doubt your shared laughter or tears is especially dear.

Blessings this Easter weekend, and always,

  3. Oh there is really nothing quite like a life long friend who has traveled the roads with you. I too have a couple I have had since I was 9 years old...(just a few moons ago, haha) I think your hair looks great. It never does look quite like it does when we leave the shop huh? lol I tried as well a couple of days ago to work the old curling iron (beings how big curls are back and all) and what a disaster...haha...I think I will stick to the flatiron. Have a wonderfully blessed Easter Melanie. Praying for you all. Hugs, Debbie

  4. Love your new haircut!
