Your Prayers for Andrew

I have my husband's laptop in Andrew's hospital room. This afternoon we saw some improvement in Andrew's left side facial expression. We had other family members who witnessed it as well. Later when the nurse examined him, we did not see it but we have no doubt the improvement is there! We saw it! He was able to lift his mouth on the left side to smile. Both sides were up. He was able to slightly raise his left eyebrow. It seemed that when his smile was genuine, it was perfect...both sides lifted. When later examined, the left did not raise. We don't know why this is but we rejoice that his smile was beautifully expressed earlier this afternoon. When we all noticed, Andrew too, that he was having improvement he was very happy. So happy. I told him that God is answering the prayers of a multitude.

I have nothing but my words reflecting my heart to convey to all of you how blessed and encouraged, how lifted up, how humbled we are that so many of you are standing in the gap for us. Your intercession is a mirror of the intercession of the Holy Spirit and Christ Himself.

God gave me a song this morning. When I have more time later I will share the words with you.
Dear ones, know that God is a faithful, trustworthy Father. He is worthy of praise and worship all the time. He deserves nothing less than our highest praise even when that praise is offered as a sacrifice of praise. He is a rock in a weary land. He is the I AM. He is our shelter. We can safely hide in Him.

Even in the midst of a pyschotic episode which Andrew suffered through for hours Thursday night, God was worthy of our worship. He is worthy, worthy, worthy. He is Holy, Holy, Holy.

Thank you and BLESS you for your intercession.

We are moving to another room out of the ICU shortly.
I want to share more of God's Goodness with you. If I am able I will post later tonight. Andrew has been resting most of the day. No hallucinations, no double vision. Praise God!

  2. Hello. I just started following your blog and one of my favorite bible verses is "I can do all things thru Christ which strengthens me" Please know that with God on our side, who can be against us? I will continue to pray for your precious son. We thank you Lord for the blessings you give us. Thank you FATHER.
    Blessings,
    Sandra

  3. Wow Melanie! How wonderful to see his smile today, both sides. I am so glad Andrew is resting now in all of this. I hope you and one fine man will do your best to rest also. It's important for you to do that too. Thank you for updating us. All our hearts are focused on Andrew's healing. There are so many people asking others to join in prayer. Wish I was close to be able to do something there. I know asking God to touch Andrew with His healing hand is most important. Your praise is powerful.
Thank you God for Melanie's faith. She knows all things are possible with you! Please give them a good night's rest and improvement tomorrow. Shower them with love! In your name Jesus we pray, amen. Love,B

  5. Thank you for the update Melanie. Praise God for the improvement you saw today. I mowed the lawn this afternoon (something I like to do for exercise) and the entire time I was praying specifically for Andrew. Andrew is never far from my thoughts or prayers. (((hugs)))

    Dear Lord, Abba, Father,

In the name of the one who saved us, Jesus, I pray for Andrew. I will not stop knocking, seeking, asking for his total healing. You are the Great Physician with wonder working power. Please heal and restore as only you can. We believe you still perform miracles, so we ask you do that in Andrew's situation so that you alone may be glorified. Be with Melanie, her husband, family and friends. Give them your amazing peace and comfort. Holy Spirit, fill the room that Andrew is in at the hospital. In Jesus name I pray. Amen, amen and amen. I praise you Lord for who you are.

  7. Dear Melanie,

I'm just sitting here wanting to cry as I read your words of praise and adoration for the Lord, IN ALL THINGS!

Yes you are praising him in the storm of your son's life and your family's as well.

Easy words to sing, or say, but you are LIVING them for us now.

Oh what a delight you are to our Father, and to all of us.

Continuing to intercede, give thanks for what He has done and WILL do through this whole journey head.

God is being GLORIFIED, lives are being touched and changed. I'm so grateful I found your blog when I did.

  8. Not sure how I found your blog tonight but I am praying for your son and your family and your doctors. My father was diagnosed with a brain tumor 10 years ago - what they can do now for things like this with medicine is nothing short of a miracle and blessings from God. Please tell Andrew that if a wimpy 56 year old man can make it through with flying colors then so can he! :) Be brave. We will continue to pray.

  15. Heavenly Father, I pray for continued strength for this entire family. Bless them with a strength not possible for our human selves to possess, but one that could only come from you. Lord, we thank you in advance for the complete healing you will provide for Andrew. I pray for continued wisdom and insight for Andrew's medical staff. I pray that you will remain in him as he remains in you. In the name of Jesus we command the evil one to leave for we know that Andrew is your child. Lord, grant them all a restful night and a day full of new hope in You.

  17. This is wonderful news, Melanie! Oh,yes, He is worthy of all praise, there is none like our God! I'm so glad Andrew is encouraged and able to rest...he's such sweet young man. It is a privilege that we can come before the Lord in prayer, with our petitions and supplications, in the name of our Savior, Jesus...He is so wonderful, and we are continuing to lift Andrew up to Him for healing, for wisdom for his physicians, and peace for the family. I know your faith is strong, and because of that, Andrew knows His God, and his faith has been built, to see him through this with confidence and trust. Bless all of you, Melanie...looking forward to another good report! Mary

  18. Melanie, I came online just to HEAR GOOD NEWS regarding Andrew. I rose up early this morning and prayed for him again.

Maintain your praise, love, worship and strong faith in our LORD. His Hand is upon Andrew that is the smile you saw in Andrew's face and will see again no doubt! Praise the LORD.

If there is anything that I can do Melanie (cook, clean your home or anything else), please call upon me. I believe I'm about 2 hours from you and would be happy to come if you need anything. I realize you must have a strong in person base of people who are loving on you but I wanted you to know if you need anything, please reach out. BUT, you already have my PRAYERS of FAITH, my family and other brothers and sister in Christ I've shared Andrew with to INTERCEDE before the Throne of Grace.

We are also praying for you and your family to be strengthened, comforted and refreshed in the LORD during this time. May the peace, love and healing power of GOD rest upon Andrew's body and bring him to complete restoration in Jesus Name. Amen and Amen.

Praise the LORD for indeed He is worthy.

    Love and blessings.

  19. I hope you don't mind but I will be using your praise for my It's Not About Me post today...

I have tears in my eyes.

Today's devotional was about intercessory prayer...than I come here and read this post...

We do not look at the things that are seen...for the things that are seen are temporary!!

This is the scripture that came to my mind when I read about later in the afternoon about Andrew's symptoms...

    ((((((hugs)))))))

Paula and I continue to join together in prayer each day on the phone for your family sis..and God IS definitely bringing Andrew to SO many's minds throughout the day!!!!

  20. Oh my sweet Melanie!!! I had a few moments at home this morning so I decided to check in on you...My heart is so sad for the week you have had! What horrid news! I will drop to my knees right now and bring you and your sweet boy to the Father! Isn't it great that we can be confident he is not surprised by this...that he knows Andrews brain and in fact designed it! That he has plans for us that are good! We serve a wonderful Father who loves us! May he continue to give you a song!

  22. 1 Peter 5:10 -- And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Claiming that this time of suffering will be "a little while" and that God himself will RESTORE Andrew, making him strong, firm and steadfast.

  30. Praying for your family and your son Andrew's healing! Your words have ministered to me this evening, my daughter has a chronic stomach disease, that despite treatment seems to be improving none. I was so discouraged and even in despair for her until your words lifted me up. I know God is able to heal both our children, but God used you to send his words right to me, right now. Your strength is one that can come from The One and Only. Love and Prayers. Jackie

  31. Melanie:

Please know that I am praying for God to see you all THROUGH this! That is what He promises through His Word. He will never leave you - nor forsake you. He says all that in Joshua 1:1-9 where He [over and over again] tells Joshua to NOT be afraid - because He knew that Joshua WAS afraid. He says, "do not be discouraged - TAKE COURAGE instead."

Did you see that the word disCOURAGEd - has the word COURAGE inside of it?

Cling tightly to your God - He is mighty to save! He's a miracle making God - the same yesterday - today and forever - Hebrews tells us!

Praying with you and for you and Andrew!
