Edited 9/7/09 ~ Go here for the latest updates on the Goodness of God.
We could not get an appointment with a neurologist at All Chidren's Hospital (St. Pete) until Monday at 1:00. They will do another MRI and a nerve conduction test.
Andrew's doctor said "medically" a few more days doesn't matter. Of course, for us the waiting is hard. However, I feel that the wait allows even more time for more prayer.
Please pray for Andrew's complete recovery and return of strength and function to his left arm, hand and shoulder.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed~always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may manifested in our body" 2nd Corinthians 4:7-10.
EDITED TO ADD:
You have no idea how much your words of comfort, scripture and prayer means to me. I tremble at the thought of what all we will hear today after further tests. Truly the Body of Christ ministers light in the darkness.
We had the kind of news you hope you'll never hear today. Our 12 yr. old son had an MRI today that shows a mass on his brain. We take him tomorrow to a children's hospital for more tests.
Please pray for our son, Andrew. His picture is in my sidebar at the bottom. (Skate-Boy)
Thank you so much.
Melanie

Send only the best doctors his way and give Mom and family peace during this time. Please heal and restore and cause the mass to disappear. We will give you all the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

ReplyDeleteMy son Randan experienced something similar last November...
((Hugs))) Remember precious one,,Who Andrew's Great Physician is. (I know you do, but I also know Satan likes to come in and start bring foreboding thoughts, at times louder than the sweet whispers of our Precious Father).

ReplyDeleteDear Jesus thank you for Melanie! I can sense in this moment from one momma heart to another this is so overwhelming. The waiting, the unknowns, the confusion, the frustration, the pain! Lord hold her really close, bring peace and calmness. You have walked before her...and she NEEDS you to hold her hand right now. I pray that You God are in all the details. Thank You Jesus for loving on this family in great and awesome ways. Amen
I'm so impressed by all the love in your comment box. The Christian community is strong and rallying around you & your skater boy! May God put his healing touch on your son, and may YOU know have the peace that passes human understanding as your wait for the appointment next week.
ReplyDeleteLove you!
I am storming the heavens on Andrew's behalf.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea
I am lifting dear Andrew up in my prayers, asking God for total healing.
ReplyDeleteMelanie,
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine as a mother the amount of worry and concern you have for Andrew. I know it will remain until you have the answers you seek and can plan your very next move.
I sense God loves to be involved in situations like these because of the amount of prayer that comes to Him during crisis like these.
As you know, there are consequences to waiting. When you ask God about something important and He doesn't answer right away, you'll not only struggle with your own doubts, but you may have to address others. They will want to know what your course of action will be, and why you're allowing opportunities to pass by. You may not have any answers.
In those times, it'll be difficult to keep waiting - but do it anyway. Allowing God to answer will strengthen your faith. Be patient, Melanie. God will undoubtedly answer you in a way that will bring that sparkle back to your eyes. Count on it!!
Lord, I know that waiting can be extremely difficult but we will trust in YOU. We know that you will never let us down and that your promises are sure.
"Please listen, Lord God, and answer my prayers. Make my eyes sparkle again." Psalm 13:3
In Jesus mighty name, AMEN!!!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat

I found your blog through "Tea with Tiffany". I pray, Lord Jesus, our Healer that you will touch Skate-boy and that the mass will be found to be benign and that you would cause it to be removed and that he will suffer "no ill effects" from this. Be glorified in their lives Lord and strengthen and bless them abundantly. You know the beginning to the end of every situation that comes our way and you don't let us experience anything that we cannot handle by your great strength and wisdom. Thank you Lord that you hear and answer prayer. Blessings, BarbaraJean

Melanie~
ReplyDeleteYour sweet, sweet, precious family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Praying that God's peace, wraps you like a blanket and that when you feel as though you cannot trust God's hand as he guides you, you can trust his heart as he leads you.
Nothing, catches God by surprise...God is not sitting in heaven ringing his hands wondering what to do...rather, he is RIGHT there, by your side, walking with you on this journey.
Cling to the hem of his garment...he will feel your touch!
Clinging the hem of his garment a little tighter tonight on behalf of your precious family!
Kim~
Melanie, I am very, very sad to hear about Andrew. Many prayers are being lifted up to our Lord, who is our Healer...I know He hears our voices as we ask Him to touch Andrew's body and heal him. I'm praying that the next MRI will show that the tumor is gone or shrinking. We will be standing with you in prayer and in faith in the Lord God. This can't be easy...I can't really imagine the pain of hearing those words, but I know God has a plan for you and Andrew, and He will walk through this with you and your family. I will watch for updates on his condition, and waiting for a praise report. Bless you, Melanie, and God bless Andrew.

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;

ReplyDeleteJane
I came here from Lisa Shaw's site. I'm lifting a word of prayer for you, your son and your extended family.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for your ever expanding prayer warrior network! I know the power of prayer and know that you will have a wonderful testimony when you witness that God has answered your prayer and even exceeds your expectation. One practical thing you might try when feeling frustrated is to tell yourself the testimony that you will tell others. It will help you focus on what God will provide for you and help increase your faith.
I had a biopsy a couple of years ago and the time between the test and the results is fertile ground for a busy devil and an active imagination. Directing my mind to praising and serving the Lord was helpful and we know that when the praises go up, the blessings come down.
Psalm 91 - (1-3 below, link to entire Psalm at bottom)
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
