The Balm of Gilead

Andrew & his dog.
Andrew loves this little bundle of fur.

Sisters, Let me try to express how your kind words, references to scripture and prayers have been the balm of Gilead to my heavy heart. Truly, the Body of Christ is beautiful.

Since our world tilted Tuesday, the past 2 nights have been especially difficult. Hard to fall asleep, hard to stay asleep. And the thing is I don't want to sleep. I want to keep the Word before my eyes. I want to ingest it and so I meditate on scripture when my eyes close. When sleep leaves and the morning is not yet, I turn on my lamp and weep before the Healer. I read His Word, I pray and I groan through the Holy Spirit's intercession. I believe that Jesus has entered into this with me. He is interceding before the Father. Around 5:00 this morning I asked my husband to read Psalm 27 over me.

"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord" Psalm 27:13, 14.

Thank you to all who sent people here. Thank you for adding our sweet Andrew to prayer chains. I pray that as you enter into the "secret place" of prayer, our Father rewards you openly.

We are praying and believing that the mass - the intruder that has no legal right to be in Andrew's body - shrinks to nothingness. We are praying and believing that Andrew regains complete and perfect use of his left arm and hand.

  4. Melanie, I am going to put Andrew's name on the praying silhouette that I've had on my blog for Amy Dawn, and will add a link to your blog. Please let anyone know they may use it, or make their own. We are praying for Andrew night and day, and will be lifting him up to the Lord continually for healing . That scripture is true...His Word is true. I pray the Father will lay a blanket of peace and protection over your family, and I pray for His mercy and grace to be yours today. Mary

  8. My mother's heart waits in pause with you this day before the throne. May the peace of Christ which exceeds understanding mediate its way past closed doors to stand in your midst and be your ample and abiding portion this day and in the days to come.

I'm holding Andrew before our God this day.

  9. Precious Melanie, Psalm 27:13-14 is the WORD I was taught in my childhood by my Grandmother and I've kept it, stood on it and prayed it continously in my life time including when my husband was battling serious illness for 3 years. GOD delivered him and He will do the same for Andrew!

As you said, this foreign thing has no LEGAL RIGHT to be attacking his body! Andrew belongs to the LORD! I/we stand with you in prayer not just for him but for your entire family. Stay strong in the LORD.

  18. Melanie, I will be praying for your precious son, Andrew. Our God is a God of miracles.

Many years ago my brother was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, his balance was poor and he fell alot, got headaches, etc.

There was nothing the doctors could do. He was going to die. Well, I think you know what's coming. The Lord healed him. The xray confirmed the tumor was gone but my brother knew that anyway as his symptoms were gone.

I only said this to let you know that we serve a God of miracles Who is unlimited by human hand.

I'll be praying for you all!

    Love in Christ,
    Nan
