HOPEFUL FAMILY

~~~~~~~~~~Andrew, we miss you, sweet boy.~~~~~~~~~
This picture was taken by my sister-in-law at the dinner our church prepared following the service for our Andrew on 12/19/09.
Hard to see a "family" picture when one of your children is missing.
Missing.
I can't tell you how life is forever changed. Some of you know firsthand because your "family" pictures feel incomplete, too.
Missing.
I can tell you that my heart beats with hope. Hope because one day our family will be complete again.
Complete.
No one missing...
  2. Hello Melanie, I have read your sad story from start to today and offer my sincerest condolences on your awful loss. I can feel your pain and loss in your words and only hope that being able to verbalise on your blog helps in some small way to go through this journey.The family picture must be a heartbreak all right as you say,funny how something like that stops us in our tracks,imagining what it would be like if it was our situation, not a pleasant thought!
    Keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.Keep well and hopeful.
  4. Such wonderful pictures Melanie.
    We are limited to time and space, but Andrew is not. All it will be is a "blink" and the rest of you will be with him in heaven, and oh what a joyous reunion!
    love,
    Debra
  7. Melanie,
    Not only are the new backgrounds of our pages similar, our minds are in a similar place today. I just posted on Hope yesterday and I did think of you, also, when I did it.
    Today, I will be posting something along this line:
    "Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blessed, finding as he promised, perfect peace and rest."
    The woman who wrote those words in 1876 had been very ill and told that she would likely die. Her reply: "If I am really going, it is too good to be true."
    From Andrew's perspective, I am certain "it is too good to be true" and from yours- I know you are "stayed upon Jehovah".
    Which I'm sure takes great focus and laying down of your heart daily before our great God, Savior, Ruler, Lover, Sustainer, King.
    I do not know you, Melanie. But I prayed for you this morning and yesterday and just about every day since I came back to the blogs from a long break, and found that Andrew was Home.
    Much love and peace to you, sister in Christ. Come visit me.
  10. You don't know me, but Carol M. told me about you. First of all thank you for your testimony. We too just lost a child. She went home to be with Jesus on Dec. 20, 2009. Alana was only 2 1/2. We miss her so deeply. You will be in my prayers.
    Hope
  11. Dearest Melanie, I can only imagine the intense pain of losing a child can bring. I am so glad that you speak of Hope. Without hope we are like withered leaves, dry, broken and lifeless.
    The Lord will lift you and sustain you and I already know that you know that.
    I am keeping your family close to my heart in prayer. God bless you.
  17. Melanie:
    I posted a comment and I think I erased it, but here's what I keep thinking... when God views your family picture... Andrew is right there with you! HE created YOUR family, and Andrew was put there by Him, so the final picture, the eternal one, will have Andrew standing right there again.
    I'll keep praying...
  21. What a perfect song for you at this time. And to think that Steven Curtis Chapman knows what it feels like to lose a child. The song has more meaning.
    Love,
