Enough!

The devil doesn't give you a break. He is evil and delights in kicking you when you are down. He will look for a weakness in you. He will search out and target for destruction what you treasure most. He is not your friend. He is your enemy. He will not give you a break. He keeps on coming.

He hates "the family."

The only real strength we have is found in Jesus. Even when we don't see an answer, we have THE ANSWER.

My heart has been broken and stepped on over the past few months. We are in a world that is cursed and we live with the fall-out. I have cried and prayed until my eyes were burning and swollen and my voice was raspy. I have lost my appetite and weigh less than I did when I got married. It has not been a chosen diet and my weight is less today than it was even 4 days ago. Stress causes my stomach to go into knots and I cannot eat. Having said all of that, I KNOW my source is God and His Word and I am feeding on it! I am pouring myself out before the Lord and believing and trusting that His plans will prevail regardless of what may come around the corner.

GREATER is He who is in me than he that is in the world.

Saturday I decided it was time to get my strength back because I realized that the devil ~ just calling him what he is ~ wants to destroy my family and yours, too. Why would he stop with one or two or a million?

Please join me in praying for "the family." I know ours needs the prayer support. Does yours?

ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

If your family needs prayer, just let me know in a comment or you can email me. My address is in my profile. I don't need details but I will be happy to add your family to my prayers. I am beginning The Family Prayer List for my personal time before the Lord.
Fighting for "the family,"

  1. oh, how i love your heart!

the devil wants nothing more than to destroy the family. when he strikes us there, it's as if he can stop everything. my family covets any prayers on our behalf. the kids still will not speak to their dad...the fall out is very evident in both of their lives.

my illness prevents me from getting work and we are certainly feeling it financially. i know that satan is after me to fill me with fear and anxiety. i am sick of it and i am sick of him.

praying for you now, melanie. love you.

  2. Melanie, I believe that Satan's biggest hate is love especially love between families...he wants to destroy this wonderful gift from God. I love how you are fighting back refusing to let him win his battle on your family and all families. I would love if you would include my family in your prayers, we have never been the same since Satan attack us but I will never stop fighting his evil and limit his damage.
I do hope you are able to eat soon sweetie, you need the nourishment and your family needs you healthy. I lost 50 lbs. in less than 4 months when my son passed, I felt I would choke every time I tried to swallow, I had to force myself and learn to eat all over again........:-) Hugs

  5. Thank you Melanie..my family does need prayer, like all of ours do. I will be standing in the gap with you precious one.

Could you also pray for the little girl Alivia that we had been praying for who has battled brain cancer for quite some time.

She would have been 5 in July..yes, would have. She has gone to be with the Lord last Friday at 4 pm.

Alivia was at my girlfriend's thursday night playing with the lab puppies and enjoying her time with them....

The family is glad she is no longer suffering. This wee one battled hard and strong.

Pray for her little sister that was born on January 1st, Katlyn Alivia. We praise God that Katy will have pictures of her and her sister together...

The funeral will be on Wednesday....

I'm quite sure most of the town we are in will be attending...Alivia touched many many people's lives....

  6. I will continue to pray for your family and we'd like prayer too. It seems the devil uses the same old tricks; why don't we see it? I'll be praying the Word with you. I like Eph. 1:17-23 and 3:14-21 for my family, actually filling in our names. I will add your family and the others who request also. Boy, what a prayer meeting! :)

  9. It is usually when we are in our deepest despair...when we think things can get no worse...That we discover who we truly are. And only then can we be what He called us to be.

    Melanie,
you are nothing short of an inspiration...
of how one seeking the heart of God
    should act.
You have been thru so much...yet you continue to give to others. Thank you!
    You are my hero!
I continue to pray for you and your family...Please include me and my family in yours.
That is what we are here to do...
all of us...as children of God.
Be there for one another, Help those who need help, and Pray.

I think today...I will put the coffee on.
Be blessed and know that I am thinking of you.

  13. Melanie:
This was an incredible post. It came straight from the heart of one who is there... who knows what it is to be pressed down by that very enemy you have just named. What I love so much here, is that, in the middle of the pain you speak from... you are also speaking HIS HOPE! It just filled my eyes with tears to read these words.

You just keep right on going... God is leading this path, for both you and your family. HE is re-emerging as the real answer! He 'gets' what you are going through, and He is leading you to the other side.

    Hugs!

  15. I agree with you whole heartedly. I feel like I am continually stomping on the Devil's ole nappy head. He is trying to show himself strong in this day and hour, BUT I know a God who is more powerful and mighty and Awesome! My Savior, Redeemer, Strongtower, Jehovah Rapha, Friend, Comforter and Joy giver. I am learning to be stronger in him everyday even through the trials and tribulations that each day brings. I love ya and am in continual prayer for you and your family. You are a mighty woman of God with a purpose on your life. Thanks for always being bold and speaking from your heart.
    Hugs,
    Tara

  18. Oh Melanie,
Our family has been under such attack in the last year. I just feel like we have been at war with the enemy over this last year. Some days I've fought hard, but others, not so much. I want to fight hard every day. I know that God wins and we are His, so we are on the winning team!!! Hallelujah!!

    Standing with you friend,
    Dawn

  20. The enemy can get to us with little whispers when we are alone and feeling down. He uses discouragement and depression to gnaw at us. Yes, I will join in praying for the family.

Your family has been through so much with Andrew. Allow yourself to grieve Melanie. Go through each stage of grieving knowing that your God is with you through it all. He is holding you in His tender arms of love. And He is holding Andrew in heaven.

May you be comforted by the love and prayers of your blogging friends.

    Love,
    Debbie

  22. Joining in this fight for "family"...if the enemy can't get to us personally, he goes after those dearest to us...and that seems to hurt the worst...

  25. Satan does target the family. Our fight is won in prayer. You will win this battle because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. I am fighting the good fight with you. I would love for my family to be in your prayer time. Together we will march on to victory. I pray for you to be able to eat healthy. Satan wants to block the light coming out of you. We will help hold your arms in this battle. B

  26. Oh Melanie you are 100% correct of course. Satan is just relentless at times and hammers and pummels us with everything he's got to get us to give up and give in. He gets us all where and when we are at our weakest, coward that he is. I will definitely join you in your prayer to protect the family. Your strength and inspiration to others has got to drive him wild. But he will lose this fight. Still praying for you every night. I love knowing this new way to pray for you. Your right...enough is enough. Hugs, Debbie

  27. Melanie ~ I am joining you for praying for your family and asking for you to add mine as well. You are mighty in Him and no weapon formed against you will prosper! The enemy would love nothing more than to build walls, break apart the love that your family and others has but through Christ we will all have victory! Love to you my friend!

  28. I will pray for your family and yes I do need you to pray for mine. I am in total agreement with you regarding the devil. He is so diligent in attacking the girl who has everything, especially when that includes Jesus. How could Satan get at that girl? But he does. And I am sick of it!

  30. Melanie,
I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I have been checking back quite frequently to see how you and your family are doing. You have been in my prayers (and my Sunday school class and choir prayers)for a long while. Our only connection is the bracelet you won on my site last year, and the fact that Andrew and my son are close in age. I also lost my brother unexpectedly when he was just 8; my joy comes from the fact that I will see him in heaven with Jesus some day. I am praying for you quite often and love your heart for the Lord. Just wanted you to know.
    Hugs,
    Linda

  31. I hate the Devil...you are so right..he is trying his best to destroy lives and families but,we can not let him defeat us....we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus...the pain Satan inflicts upon us can be so devastating but God is able....

  34. Melanie - you have been on my heart so much lately...just wanted to stop by and send you a hug and let you know that I pray for you often. My heart hurts more after reading your post and I know a bit more specifically how to pray. Oh how the devil delights to attack when we are at our weakest. Please know you are being prayed for by name.

  35. Mela I needed this so much today! You are so right and that nasty enemy is watching and waiting for the right moment! I felt like God gave me this verse last night....Hear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God; save your servant who trusts in you. Ps. 86. Maybe he wants to encourage you with this today too. Love you friend!

  37. Melanie, I have seen first hand how much our Enemy desires to destroy our families. My family has lived with the stress and pain of my illness for many years. We have seen the Lord's grace, mercy, and love, and we have seen dark times when life is a desert and we feel forsaken. I know that other families have faced similar hardships. I know that many families have faced worse. And I know that we need Jesus. And we need prayer. Thank you for yours. I am still praying for you and your family.

"Praise be to the Lord, for He showed His wonderful love to me when I was in a besieged city." Psalm 31:21
