Just a few glimpses of one of my favorite faces!

Summer '08
I took Andrew to the skate park. I love this picture.

(Click on pics to enlarge.)

Ski Trip '07
Such a sweet smile.

Summer Trip of white water rafting '07
We stopped at a national park for a picnic and Andrew ran and jumped and when he landed this one, he fell and tumbled down the slope. My mother's heart jumped out of my body! He was ok...just a little scraped up.

In a little while, I will share the beauty of his service on Saturday, 12/19. For now, just know that we worshipped the Lord.
We were led in triumphal procession and the fragrance of Christ was spread.

  1. He is beautiful! Praying for your family this week. I pray especially that the Lord will miraculously give you peace and comfort as you gather together. But, Mel....I KNOW you are hurting. You are bathed in prayers dear friend. I hope you feel a bit of them.

  2. Melanie,
You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers. Just know that Andrew has made a huge postive impact on many lives in his short time here on Earth. Bet he is skateboarding on those streets of gold with no pains or tears right now.
    Great big hugs from Texas,
    Tara

  3. I look forward to meeting Andrew in Heaven...to wrapping my arms around this lovely faced boy who wrapped my heart around his finger. I will not forget Andrew...because of him, I will hold my own children a little tighter, love a little harder and thank God for each day. Love you ((hugs)).

  4. Oh Melanie,

    How special...

I know you know this, but your Andrew was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

I can only imagine how he looks now.

Thinking of all the time, still praying, and thanking God for all I learned through Andrew's journey.

    I'm here for you.

  9. Oh my goodness, he looks so very much like you! These pictures are priceless! There isn't a day goes by, even in the busyness of the holiday, that I don't think of you and your family, immediately lifting you all up in prayer. My mother's heart just does not stop aching for you! Thank you for these pictures, and for sharing Saturday's service with us whenever you can.

  10. Melanie, Andrew looks just like you, and you look just like Jesus.

I'm praying that God will hold you close this Christmas. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

  15. Praising God along with you, but with tears in my eyes Melanie. I'm so glad to hear that things went well for you on Saturday. God bless you all and I hope you have a beautiful Christmas!

  16. He does have such a sweet, precious face. I have tears in my eyes as I have just learned of Andrew's passing. I have been caught up in things this last couple of weeks (which seem so unimportant in light of what you've been through), so I hadn't checked your blog in a little while. This Christmas your family will have its own private angel watching down from Heaven. Hugs and prayers to you and your family. Sweet Andrew needs no prayers now as he's gone on to a better place.

  18. Dearest Melanie...
I have been sick and in the hospital and didn't know of Andrew's passing until a couple days ago. I just couldn't seem to get it together to even post a comment. My sorrow in hearing this sad news really shook me up. Please know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers...my whole family too. I had spoke of you and Andrew many times to my family and along with me..they are praying for you and your family. What a beautiful boy with such a beautiful smile. Praying for God to give you much peace and comfort...

  22. Melanie, He is so precious and he has captured everyone's heart. He is happy now, and I am praying for a healing peace to fall over you and your family.
Here is what I do. On Christmas Eve, sometime around midnight, I walk outside and stand under my red maple tree. I just bask in the beauty and the awesome holy darkness and I pray to the Christ Child and I remember all my dear ones who have passed, and ask the Christ Child to tell them how much I love and miss them. It is at this time that I include all family and friends and anyone who is close to my heart, and ask for special blessings on all for Christmas.
May the peace of the Birth of our Lord strengthen and surround you with Holy Love. ginny

  28. Wow, he sure does look a lot like his momma. Thank you for sharing his pictures with us. I love every one of them.

I've lifted you and your family to the Lord continually since I learned of Andrew's passing. Please be sure that I will continue to do so.

I'm certain my sweet Noah has already met and befriended your sweet Andrew (they would be about the same age!). I bet they're swapping stories about how much their mommies love them and prayed for them. :)

    I love you, Melanie.

  38. Oh, I don't know how I missed this post. These pictures really capture what "made in God's image" means. He is so handsome Melanie.
My heart still just aches for you. By nature, I'm a "fixer" and I hate that I can't do something to make this all better, take you back to the old normal, bring back your Andrew. But I can't, because I'm not Jesus and only He can see you through this completely. Only He can be the One to guide you through your new, painful normal.
You are so loved by many, I hope you know that.
    Love,
    Lelia
