Monday Morning Update

Andrew is in surgery now to have a shunt put in. Because he still has the infection and even had a fever as they took him into the OR, he will not get a port today. Too risky. They will put in a feeding tube in his stomach. He has gotten very skinny and needs to be fattened up.

We continue to stand on God's Word and that alone, as we pray against the curse of cancer and all of its effects. God is always faithful and true to His Word which is a reflection of His character. To know God, read about Jesus. He said that if you have seen Him, you have seen the Father. Jesus only did and said what He saw the Father do. Jesus spent many hours on this earth in prayer to His Father. Jesus was a bondservant to His Father and went about doing the Master's business.

That is my desire ~ to be a bondservant, knowing and doing the will of the Father. Always on a mission to be about the Father's business.

Yesterday a woman I did not know previously talked to our pastor after church and then asked us if she could come pray for Andrew. She felt led to do this upon the pastor's Sunday morning request for prayer for Andrew.
She made a 5 hour round trip drive to come to the hospital room and pray for our son. She said she had thought about coming on Monday (today) but that God told her she should come yesterday. So she obeyed, not knowing that surgery was scheduled for 8:00 this morning.

The prayer on our hearts and lips this morning is from Psalm 19:21: "Many are the plans in a man's heart but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

I have not forgotten to pray for so many of you who are facing difficult situations either in your health or your mind. I continue to call out your name before Lord, coming against, fear, sickness and disease.

  4. Mel,
We have not given up on praying for Andrew's complete recovery. I still believe that God is not just able but more than willing to heal Andrew and that He will be faithful to His character and perform this mighty miracle. Jesus told us to ask and to keep on asking for thoses who ask, receive. Doug and I are asking everyday and praising God for what He has done and what He is going to do. To God be the honor and the power and the glory forever! Amen! Love you. Be strong in the Lord and of great courage. You will reap if you do not faint! Doug and I will be your's and Dannie's Aaron and Hur. We agree with you for divine healing and we hold you up in our prayers.

  7. Melanie, you have an army of prayer warriors out here praying for Andrew's miracle. God so often waits til there is no other hope, but then touches those in need, so His name will be glorified. He rose Lazarus from the dead after 3 days...He will raise Andrew from this illness. I am also seeing Andrew healed, healthy, and on his skateboard, with his hat turned backward, as he leaves this ordeal behind him. Your faith continues to amaze all of us....you are an inspiration to us as you pray for others when your own need is so great right now. I am praying for great comfort and peace for you, Melanie, and for divine wisdom for the doctors. I can see that He is shining His face upon you. And you know that He is speaking to people on Andrew's behalf, people like that dear woman who listened to the Holy Spirit prompting her to go and pray just when she did. He is watching over this entire situation...Andrew is in the palm of His hand. Your name of "bella" certainly is true of you..devoted to God. Praying for all in your family that are affected by this, too. I stand with you in praise of our wonderful Father who loves us so much.

  11. I join all the others in thanking you for the update on Andrew. I find my heart and mind wondering about him so often. He is in my prayers constantly. I loved hearing the story of the faithful woman from your church who obeyed the Lord and traveled to pray for Andrew. It so blesses me to hear how much God cares for all of us. Your courage and faith continues to be such an inspiration and know that we are all standing beside you against this enemy. Blessings to you today and always, Debbie

Father, I thank you that you are Andrew's healer. You have a plan and a purpose for this precious young man's life. Show your self to him like you have never done before. Comfort him and strengthen him each day. Thank you Lord for all you have already done through this journey he and his family is now on. Continue to speak to Melanie daily with words of hope, healing and your faithfulness day and night. You are their light and salvation. You are a mighty God, faithful and true. Surround them with your presence, cover them with your love. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Continuing to cry out for Andrew~

  14. Still crying out for Andrew.

Oddly enough, our pastor said the same thing yesterday. Holy Spirit took over the service and our pastor began to speak under the anointing and everything revolved around how Jesus only did what He saw the father do and that's what we are to do. Very interesting.

  15. Mrs. Dorsey,

I've been praying for your family ever since I found out about Andrew. I wanted to share with you a dream I had last night. I'm not sure where my dream occurred (at my house, at your house, wherever), but you, Audra, and Andrew met up with me. We were all so excited because of Andrew's healing. He was laughing, cracking jokes, and full of energy and joy. We discussed how faithful God is.

I don't know what this dream may mean for the future, but my hope and constant prayer is that it will be fulfilled- God will heal Andrew and we will all rejoice in it.

    God bless!
    -Meaghan S.

  18. Oh Melaine, may God wrap his arms around you and your family and hold Andrew up to get through this trying time. How awful for you and your family and especially for Andrew. God bless you all and I will continue to pray that the good in God will provail over the evil of the cancer that lurks inside sweet little Andrew. God will always provail in our hearts, our minds, and our bodies. The good will of God will be done. He will perform a miracle for you and your family.

    Blessings,

  35. Bless you Melanie for your faith and words and continual updates as we PRAY & BELIEVE for God to move this mountain!!! His miracle is coming! Every time I read the word "miracle" I think of you & Andrew's situation & pray again.

I read this and wanted to share it, though I think DW had another one last week that I wanted to send you as well...

IN THE MIDST OF A MIRACLE from David Wilkerson Today by David Wilkerson
"You may be in the middle of a miracle right now and simply not see it. It may be that you are waiting for a miracle. You’re discouraged because things seem to be at a standstill. You do not see any evidence of God’s supernatural work on your behalf.

Consider what David says in Psalm 18: “In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken…. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured…. He bowed the heavens also, and came down…. The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice…He sent out his arrows…he shot out lightnings” (Psalm18:6-9, 13-14).

You have to realize, none of these things literally happened. It was all something that David saw in his spiritual eye. Beloved, that is faith. It’s when you believe God has heard your cry, that he hasn’t delayed, that he isn’t ignoring your petition. Instead, he quietly began your miracle immediately when you prayed, and even now he’s doing supernatural work on your behalf. That is truly believing in miracles, his marvelous progressive work in our lives.

David understood the foundational truth beneath it all: “He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me” (Psalm 18:19). David declared, “I know why the Lord is doing all this for me. It’s because he delights in me.”

I truly believe in instantaneous miracles. God is still working glorious, instant wonders in the world today. In Matthew 16:9-11 and Mark 8:19-21, as Jesus reminds the disciples of the miraculous feeding of the 5,000 and the 4,000, he is asking them and us to take note of his progressive miracles and their role in our own lives today.

This is the link to the other:)

  38. Melanie,
1 Corinthians 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.

    Jesus said,"in remembrance of me".

  45. Melane....Jerelene requested prayer for Andrew and for his family. I read your blog...and the one previous to it...and I know that God heard you...Your prayers were prayed with groanings and agony...and I know our Father hears those prayers. I, too will pray for your Andrew. I count it a blessing to pray to our Father...knowing that He wants us to come to us with our requests...our praises....our love and adoration.. and as our Heavenly Father, I know that He will do what is in His Holy will. I pray that His will is a miracle ...and we give Him all the glory and the honor and the praise.
Bless you as you wait, my dear Sister.
    Love,
    Jackie
