In a nutshell, the inverted triangle body type has strong shoulders and trimmer hips, with a sporty, athletic build ~ Celebrities w/inverted triangle body shape include Elizabeth Hurley, Teri Hatcher, Demi Moore and Naomi Campbell. The challenges are to minimize shoulder width while adding volume to hip area and defining the waist.
Assets: bust and legs

Why this outfit works: scoop neck or v neck (but not too low cut) are great for opening up the neck/chest area and slims down the torso area. This top flares out from the bust area and would be better with wider straps.
Shorts ~ pattern is good for adding some width and also the side pockets and cuffed legs (Reverse pattern and solid for a pear/triangle shape. Pattern on top and solid on bottom)
Again, the goal to dress your body type in a way that flatters is to create proportion and balance.
I heart this outfit! How I could make it work to flatter my X figure type: the top would need to be more fitted through the waist and the shorts minus the side pockets and cuff. And in general, the top would be better with wider straps. But the color is pure bronzey bliss!
